The Witcher: Origin series, which debuted on Netflix last weekend, was not well received by critics or viewers. The show currently has a 4 out of 10 rating on IMDb, a 38% rating from critics and a 9% rating from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Witcher prequel’s ratings were the worst in the franchise’s history. For comparison, the first and second seasons of The Witcher received a 90% and 59% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, respectively, while the main series’ IMDb rating is 8.1 out of 10. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf anime also received better reviews than the prequel.

And here’s the story of the first witch and the Sphere Connection: what we learned from the series “Witch: Origin”.

The lowest IMDb rating of 4.5 out of 10 was given to the final series of Origins. For comparison, the rating of the episodes of “The Witcher” on the same resource never dropped below 7.6 points out of 10.

In user reviews, Origin is described as a series where everything from the script to the acting and special effects is bad. The show was not considered to be of the standard Netflix quality, and Michelle Yeoh was apparently coerced into the show.

A sequel to Ascension is not currently planned.
