The RTX 4090 is mostly out of stock, but Nvidia has said that it expects to be back in stock by the beginning of the year. Despite the very high price tag, the enthusiast video cards took off in the first few weeks, unlike the slightly cheaper RTX 4080 model, which does not enjoy the same demand.
The recommended price for the RTX 4090 is $1,600. Video card manufacturers have also released their own versions, including a few models priced at $2000 and up. Although the graphics card is aimed at gamers who want to play 4K with ray tracing, it is also popular among professionals as a powerful solution.
Nvidia has now suspended new batch deliveries, but will resume them in the first quarter of 2023. However, the company did not elaborate on the exact reason for the shortage.
Nvidia plans to find a “golden mean” between supply and demand, so as not to produce excess volumes. However, some experts believe that Nvidia may have intentionally reduced RTX 4090 shipments to boost RTX 4080 sales.
