Fans recently released a full version (1.0) of their RPG-themed turn-based strategy remake, Heroes of Might and Magic 2. The developers have released a teaser trailer for the project.

The game’s graphics have not undergone any changes, but many of the animation flaws have been corrected and the rendering has been reworked. In addition, the authors have made a huge number of improvements to the software part of the project. There’s high-resolution support, improved artificial intelligence and more.

Since the source code of the original game is unavailable, the authors had to rebuild everything from scratch on a different engine. Now you can play the iconic game from the 90s on modern computers without any problems with optimization and accessibility.

The authors will continue to develop the project. Plans include multiplayer, a map editor, and a full-fledged expansion. In the future, fans plan to release the game on Google Play.

You can download the Heroes of Might and Magic 2 remake here. It’s worth noting that gamers will need an original game to make it work.

In 2015, Ubisoft released the HD version of Heroes of Might and Magic 3, which received mostly positive reviews from gamers.
