A user named Red Panda managed to port the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl to Unreal Engine 5, and then published a test version of the game. It’s not a full build yet, but it does give us a look at the Stalker on the new engine.

The build has some dialogue, an AI system, inventory and a map. There are optimization issues, and the models and textures are taken from the original game, so don’t expect photo-realistic graphics.

However, in the future, this assembly will allow the use of modern graphics technologies such as Lumen and Nanite.

And it’s also going to be possible to improve textures and patterns. In other words, there might be a free remaster of the game in the future.
