No Man’s Sky will be released on PSVR 2 on February 22.

Sean Murray, founder of Hello Games, announced in June that a PSVR 2 version of No Man’s Sky was in development, but did not say when or in what form it would be released. Murray also stated that the technological leap would allow the studio to take gamers’ immersion in the virtual universe to a new level.

No Man’s Sky will be released on PSVR 2 alongside the launch of the device on February 22. This update will be free and no extra charge will be required. Which is good, because the PS VR 2 itself costs $550. Which isn’t that expensive for a VR device, but in the midst of an economic recession, it’s still going to make a lot of players think. Especially considering the lack of backwards compatibility, developers will have to adapt games separately for PSVR 2.

In addition to No Man’s Sky, two other titles will also be available on the same day as PSVR 2’s release: Horizon: Call of the Mountain and Cities VR: Enhanced Edition.
