Johnny Depp recorded a short clip of Jack Sparrow at the request of Corey, an 11-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean fan.

Life has taken a noticeable toll on the brave pirate.

Johnny Depp hasn’t played Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean in over five years and is unlikely to do so in the future: the actor has stated that he is not interested in the role. But we do know exactly what Jack Sparrow would look like in a modern-day Pirate.

Although Depp has declined to play the character in films, he occasionally returns to the Jack Sparrow costume and makeup for charity. The last such action took place in December.

The actor recorded a short clip of Jack Sparrow at the request of Corey, an 11-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean fan. Cory’s had several heart transplants, and he’s on palliative care.

The video was recorded with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity that grants wishes to terminally ill children. The organization contacted Depp and gave him Cory’s request, and he didn’t say no.

According to another video on the Cory Channel, Johnny Depp not only sent the boy a video, but also called him on the phone, chatting with him live.
