HBO Max’s “Green Lantern” had reportedly been canceled in favor of other plans.

James Gunn has denied yet another DC rumor on Twitter. This time it’s about The Green Lantern series, which has been in development for quite some time.

Little is known about the new story arc and whether Scott and Gardner will appear. The project has seen a lot of changes in recent times, as it was originally focused on Alan Scott and Guy Gardner. Now it’s dedicated to John Stewart, one of the most recognizable Green Lanterns.

The first game adaptation was the 2011 Martin Campbell film, in which Ryan Reynolds played the main character. The film was poorly received by critics and fans alike, and was a box office failure, grossing $220 million worldwide on a $200 million budget.
