Director James Gunn teases the big deaths that will occur in Guardians of the Galaxy, Part 3. He says at least one hero will meet his end.

The excitement among fans is heating up, especially after the emotional debut trailer, hinting at the upcoming loss. This follows speculation that the trilogy will feature at least one major death of a member of the Guardians, and the film will be the end for the current version of the team.

After the release of the trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Part III, the director shared the poster on social media, calling the film “the end of an era”. This prompted a reaction from one fan who indicated that the MCU would likely continue to produce Guardians-related projects even after the third installment:.

It’s not really the end of an era, as Marvel will continue to make Guardians movies and include them in films like Thor: Love and Thunder.

Gunn responded to the message by simply saying that “not all of them” would be able to make it, which apparently means that not all Guardians will survive the events of the prequel trilogy.

Many speculate that Rocket may be among the dead, possibly in a battle with his creator, the Supreme Evolutionary. There has also been much speculation that Drax met his end, especially after Dave Batista insisted that it would be the end for his MCU character.

The Guardians of the Galaxy. Part 3 will be released in theaters on May 5, 2023.
