Anja Taylor-Joy told Harper’s Bazaar that she once had to choose between a career at Disney and a role in The witcher. She was once invited to star in a pilot for a Disney Channel show, and at the same time, she was invited by Robert Eggers to star in his debut film.
The actress recalls that on that exciting day, she “run around the house like a madwoman”. Taylor-Joy was happy to be offered something, but had a “good feeling” about The Witch, so she gave up her Disney experience for the film.
According to Taylor-Joy, “The Witch” defined her future career. After the film, she starred in the films Split and The Shadow Man, and then in the series The Queen’s Walk, for which she won a Golden Globe.
