There’s probably not a platform, software or hardware, that doesn’t run DOOM in some form or another. However, enthusiast Jeroen Domburg was able to surprise. He created a Christmas tree decoration and started a game on it.
Technically, it’s a miniature replica of an IBM workstation from the ’80s, which a fan built into a small display and an ESP32 controller. The game itself had been ported to this platform before, but it was for his project that Domburg used a port of the shooter for the Game Boy Advance (there is one).
And this “computer” can run the game not just in demo mode. If you plug in a compatible wireless gamepad, you can play. The project currently only offers a single-user mode, but it is possible that a more advanced version with network support will appear.
