Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is set to be released in 2023 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

During TGA 2022, developer FromSoftware announced its next action game with Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. After the announcement, many fans of the studio’s games were interested in whether the new game would be another soul-slaying or not. This question was answered by FromSoftware’s head Hidetaka Miyazaki during his last interview with IGN.

According to him, the studio is not going to make the gameplay of Armored Core VI in the style of “Soulsborne”. So don’t expect a conventional soul-like sci-fi setting, although some elements of that subgenre will still be present.

The game director says the highlight of Armored Core VI will be the boss fights. Players will have to memorize the movements of the opponent, which is typical of FromSoftware games. Yamamura promises “dynamic and intense battles” with bosses who can only offer fur. For example, players will have to choose the right parts for their huge robot to be able to fight the strongest enemies.
