God of War: Ragnarök sold 62% more copies in Europe than the first part.

In its first three weeks of sales, God of War: Ragnarök sold 62% more copies in Europe than the first part, and took the first place in sales in Europe for November. In the UK, the game improved its ranking by 32% in the last week of PS5 shipments, and returned to the top of the charts.

In the EU, 69% of the action sales were on PS5, and the rest on PS4. Analysts believe that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet could have pushed Kratos and Atreyu’s adventures off the top. Both versions were 17% more readily removed than Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in 2021.

In November, 18.2 million games were sold in Europe, including 7.8 million digital copies and 10.4 million physical copies, down 17% from November 2021.

Console sales in Europe also declined by 21% compared to 2021, with sales of 690 thousand consoles. In 2021, the main sales driver was the Switch on Black Friday and its OLED version. Nevertheless, the console remained in the first place in 2022, despite the growth of the Xbox Series and PS5.

Peripheral device sales also declined, by 11% compared to 2021. The most popular was DualSense its performance increased by 66% against the background of increased PS5 shipments.
