16 years after the first alpha release, Dwarf Fortress made it to Steam, and so many people were willing to pay 810 or the local equivalent for it that the game immediately topped the sales chart, second only to the portable PC from Valve.

A roguelike simulation game about dwarves building and operating in a procedurally generated fantasy world surpassed previous leaders Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. The Steam version of “New” has a 96% positive rating.
