Sony is making a solo film about the Hypno-Hustler starring Donald Glover.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that a new film in the Spider-Man universe is in the works. Sony is making a solo film about the Hypno-Hustler starring Donald Glover. The actor is also expected to produce the film. The script is going to be written by Eddie Murphy’s son, Miles. The project has no director yet, nor an official title.

The Hypno-Hustler was created by artists Bill Mantlo and Frank Springer. The fictional character first appeared in the November 1978 issue of Marvel Comics’ Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man comic.

Hypno-Hustler’s real name is Antoine Delsohn, he is the lead singer of the band The Mercy Killers and uses a special device that hypnotizes people to rob them.

According to the publication, Glover was attracted to the character’s musical side. Although Hypno-Hustler himself was never considered an interesting antagonist and often appeared on lists of the worst comic book villains.
