The Witcher: Blood Origin was released on Netflix on December 25, 2022.

After the release of the first season of The witcher in December 2019, many were obsessed with the fantasy franchise. Perhaps that’s why Netflix released the prequel The witcher: Blood Origin right on Christmas 2022 (December 25).

But following in the footsteps of House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones has come up with a second season for Origin. Can the fans expect a sequel anytime soon? Here’s what we know so far.

Is the second season of The Witcher Origin confirmed?

The Witcher: Origin was announced as a limited series, which usually means that the show will not get a second season. All the episodes that have been released have told a completed story arc. Basically, it says that there’s no hint of future seasons in the final episode.

But that doesn’t mean that a limited series can’t set the stage for other spin-offs.

The witch‘s Prelude is set 1,200 years before Geralt’s journey from Rivea, when the worlds of humans and elves merged into one. All 6 episodes of the show are available to watch from 25 December 2022.

As for the future of the franchise, the third season of The witcher is expected in the summer of 2023, which will be the last for Henry Cavill.
