Insider KC Walsh has found out if Sorvigolova: Born again will have a TV-MA (R-rated equivalent) rating when it premieres on Disney+.
Responding to a fan’s question on Twitter, Walsh not only confirmed that the show would not be rated R (18+), but noted that “this was never supposed to be”.
No, it won’t. And it was never meant to be.
Sorvigolova is not an R-rated character. Anyone who’s ever opened a comic book will tell you that.
What the hell difference does it make, as long as it’s good.
The series star Charlie Cox also spoke to New Musical Express about his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, expressing his feelings about how he wants the series to be a reincarnation and something different from what he’s done with “Snow White” in the past:.
It has to be reincarnation, he has to be different, otherwise why are we doing this?
Cox recalled his recent appearance in the series Hulk Woman: The Attorney, which portrayed Matt Murdoch as smart, funny, charismatic and carefree.
Although the actor doesn’t expect the reboot to be as bloody as the original series, he still believes that Sorvigolov is best suited for a more mature audience:.
I think this character works best when it’s geared toward a more mature audience. I feel like Disney+ is gonna be dark, but maybe not as bloody.
Fortunately, the first season of this series had 18 episodes, an MCU record. Marvel should have a great opportunity to make the show as mature and deep as possible, but at the same time create a story about the Wrinklehead that pays homage to his stories in the comics.
The series Sorvigolov: Born Again will begin filming in February 2023 and will air on Disney+ in the spring of 2024.
