Twitter continues to develop the Blue subscription by adding new perks. In particular, now the owners of the blue badge have priority in the rank and can upload videos up to 60 minutes long.
Reply priority is already in effect, and judging by the support page, this means that followers are displayed higher in replies than other Twitter users. It’s not clear yet whether those who pay $8 a month will always appear in the first rows, or whether other factors also matter.
While support claims that this will make it easier to fight fraud, spam and bots, many users express concern that now those who do not pay will always remain in low positions. Besides, what’s to stop scammers from signing up and getting priority on the issue?
As for the video, it is now limited to 60 minutes and 2 GB in 1080p resolution but only in the browser version. The iOS and Android apps still have the 10 minute limit. Twitter also notes that it has the right to modify or adapt original user videos for various uses.
Musk has previously stated that Twitter plans to pay users for original videos, including offering better terms than YouTube.
