Users have posted images of an early version of the story mode of Black Ops 3.

A few years ago, Kotaku reporter Jason Schreier told us that the original Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 story campaign was supposed to be an open world, connected by multiple hub locations.

In the process of developing it, Treyarch decided to go back to a traditional linear campaign, but with a cooperative, and after that we didn’t hear anything about the original plans. However, recently, users have posted several images of an early version of the story mode of Black Ops 3.

Judging by the images presented, the shooter offered several extensive maps with points of interest, various modes, such as sabotage, defense, elimination of targets, etc., the alternation of day and night, as well as the weather, and the mechanics of the economy and construction.
