Alita: Battle Angel has long been a part of the anime industry, as the original manga appeared back in 1990. The 2019 film adaptation was successful, but the sequel has not been fully developed.

During the press tour for Avatar: The Watercourse, James Cameron revealed that Alita could return due to a “blood oath” between him and director Robert Rodriguez. Regardless of when Alita 2 is announced, it’s likely to happen.

In a recent interview with Variety, Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron swore a “blood oath” to make another Alita film, though nothing specific has been confirmed.

“For me, it’s a journey of discovery. You choose a path, and you have some vague goals,” he says. “I’m just starting to write a lot of notes. But you know that because I gave you 600 pages of notes on the Allies”

“Hey, let’s make another #Alita film”, James Cameron tells Robert Rodriguez. He is not a good actor. “Blood oath!” https://t.co/SWFb3RYp4k pic.twitter.com/98blgWZtuA I’m going to be a very good friend to you.
